One plus though - the Quattro does have a back blade on top of the cartridge for trimming those hard to get bristles next to the nose. I've never struck something like that before. It doesn't seem to work with the more soothing oily creams. I conclude that Quattro is made for people who use regular or canned shaving soaps. It was easy enough with the first two, but I couldn't with the Quattro. I then held up the Schick Hydro, Mach 3 and Quattro at an angle trying to see through the blade gaps. It seemed like the Quattro was getting clogged by the oil, and the tap hot water wasn't washing it off. Then I used a Mach 3 to shave my face properly. Result was the same as with the Jack Black - the Quattro wasn't shaving close at all. It's a shaken together mix of Proraso Gel which I don't like much, and an oily shave cream which improved the Proraso gel. I was wondering if somehow the Jack Black had gone off.įor the shave after that I used my mixture shave cream that I'd been using successfully for two months. I had to go and use my nearly blunt Shick Hydro 3 to redo the areas, I'd done - and it gave a good close shave. The next shave, however, was with Jack Black Beard Lube - and the razor wasn't working properly - it wasn't shaving close at all, leaving clumps of half cut off beard bristle. I used the Quattro razor for two shaves where I was using my shave sticks and brush, and the results were excellent - much better than with my nearly blunt Schick Hydro 3 cartridge razor, which I had been using the previous six weeks. I shave every two days, unless I have some event I need to be fresh shaven for. I bought a Schick Quattro Titanium which apparently has titanium and diamond in the blades.
