![]() I had been saving up to buy one for the 2021 season, but the broken KI forced my hand and I went ahead and bit the bullet and bought one. The quality control is terrible.Īs soon the KI broke I went out and bought a Ravin R26. That caused me to have to re-sight everything in. I had to disassemble most of it and Loctite everything down. As I looked everything over, I found that nearly every bolt was loose on the thing. One thing I haven't mentioned is that just before the first season I had it, the trigger box started to come loose and it would move up and down. I'm glad I caught the damage as soon as I did and didn't have it blow up in my face.Ĭlick to expand. For me, I am done with KI crossbows. I know limb failures can happen from any manufacturer, but if you do the research as I did, you will find out that the failure rate of KI limbs is unacceptably high. I used to love my KI crossbow, but I can no longer recommend them based on the number of limb failures I have read about lately. If you look at their line-up, all of their models use the same limbs. I did some searching on some other forums and it appears this is a very common failure on KI crossbows. ![]() I have to send them the old front-end back. I didn't register the crossbow either, so technically they could've denied the warranty claim (lesson learned). I contacted KI customer service and they are sending me an entirely new front end for it, so they are at least backing up their lifetime warranty. I've had my Killer Instinct Ripper 415 since March of 2019 and found a cracked limb a couple of days ago.
